ABOUT VIACHESLAV MALAFEEV

Former goalie that played his entire professional soccer career with the Russian Premier League squad Zenit St. Petersburg. During his 17 years career, he also played for the Russian men's national team at the World Cup and UEFA EuroCup. A few years after retiring, he then began working as an assistant director of sports for Zenit.

He first began playing soccer as a kid within the FC Zenit youth ranks. He eventually signed his first professional contract with Zenit in 1997.

He won a bronze medal during the 2008 UEFA European Championships. During that same year, he won a UEFA Super Cup and Russian Super Cup.

He was twice married. He has three children.

He once played for Team Russia during the World Cup just like Artem Dzyuba .
