ABOUT VLADIMER BARKAIA
Soviet soccer player who is best known for playing as a striker on FC Burevestnik Gagra from 1953 to 1955, and Dinamo Tbilisi, from 1957 to 1967.
In 1963, he graduated from the Tbilisi State University with a degree in Economics.
In June 1965, he made his debut for USSR in a 1966 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Denmark. He was an assistant coach for Dinamo Tbilisi from 1968 to 1969. Throughout the course of his career, he scored 68 goals.
He was born and raised in Gagra.
He played in a soccer game against the Brazil team starring Pelé .
