Vladimir Zubkov

ABOUT VLADIMIR ZUBKOV

Former defenseman and athlete that played hockey professionally for almost 20 seasons. During his professional career, he primarily played in leagues across France, the United States and the Soviet Union. In the year 1988, he was drafted as a tenth round pick by the Edmonton Oilers .

He first began playing hockey as a young boy coming up. As a teenager, he played for the Soviet Union youth national team.

He played in over 400 club matches during his professional hockey career. He was later inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame during the 1980's.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Moscow, Russia.

He was selected during the 1988 NHL Draft just like Mike Modano .
