ABOUT WARREN H. CARROLL
American historian who founded Christendom College and served as its first president. Much of his scholarly work focused on the history of the Roman Catholic church.
He earned a B.A. in history from Bates College and a Ph.D. in history from Columbia University .
In 2007, Christendom College awarded him its Pro Deo et Patria Award for Distinguished Service to God and Country.
He was married to author Anne W. Carroll. His mother, Gladys Hasty Carroll, was a famous novelist.
He taught a course about the theology of Pope John Paul II .
