ABOUT WILLIAM BISHOP

Best remembered for portraying Steve Connors on NBC's It's a Great Life, this early twentieth-century screen actor also appeared in such film noir productions and westerns as, respectively, The Killer That Stalked New York and Wyoming Renegades.

Intending to become a lawyer, he enrolled at West Virginia University, but abandoned his studies to pursue a career in theater. During the World War II years, he joined the United States Army.

He appeared in a 1951, sports-themed B-movie titled The Basketball Fix.

His aunt, Helen Hayes , was a famous stage and screen actress, and his cousin, James MacArthur, became known for his role in the popular television series Hawaii Five-O.

He shared the screen with the famous actress Joan Crawford in the 1950 film Harriet Craig.
