ABOUT WILLIAM MEBARAK CHADID
Known as an author and father of international pop sensation Shakira . He wrote the book Al Viento y Al Azar.
He was born in New York and immigrated to Colombia when he was 5. His parents were from Lebanon.
He has been said to have influenced much of Shakira 's music with his culture and love for writing and poetry.
His parents were Alberto Mebarak Spath and Isabel Chadid Baizer. His grandchildren are Milan Piqué Mebarak and Sasha Piqué Mebarak . He and his first wife, Lucila Mebarak, had 8 children together. He later married to Nidia del Carmen Ripoll Torrado. His children are Robin, Moises, Tonino, Alberto, Jose, Lucy, Ana, Edward and Shakira . His eldest son lost his life at 19 years old in an accident.
His ex son in law is Gerard Piqué .
