ABOUT WILSON YIP

Film director and actor who is widely recognized for his long-running Ip Man series. He has been nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Director on several occasions.

He began his career in the film industry in the 1980s. He worked his way up from a gofer to an assistant director.

His debut film 01:00 A.M. was released in 1995. In 2000, his Juliet in Love film garnered him his first Hong Kong Film Award for Best Director nomination. In 2016, he announced a forth entry in the Ip Man franchise. Throughout his career as a director, he has earned credit for over two dozen different projects. His acting credits have also exceeded twenty different projects.

He was born in Hong Kong.

He has collaborated extensively with actor Donnie Yen .
