ABOUT WOLFGANG LACKERSCHMID

German jazz musician, entertainer, artist, performer, composer, and bandleader who is known for his skill in playing the vibraphone, for contributing to over 15 albums produced since 1978, and for playing on over 200 recordings.

He studied composition and music theory at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts and graduated in 1980. He founded the Mallet Connection in 1976. He released his first album collaboration project in 1978.

He is the owner of the label Sandra Music Productions. He wrote the music for the ballet of Snow White as a commission by the Augsburg City Theater. He is also known for composing a variety of different songs for orchestra, ensembles, and theater.

He was born and raised in Tegernsee, Bavaria, Southern Germany.

He performed and collaborated with Chet Baker on multiple albums including Ballads for Two (1979), Art & Sound (1988), and Artists Favor (2008).
