He became known for his aggressive play as a midfielder for FC Barcelona 's youth squad, of which he was named the captain. In 2019, he was signed by Paris Saint-Germain FC with a contract that guaranteed him a million euros per year. He later signed a five-year contract with Eredivisie club PSV in 2022. However, he returned to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, and was subsequently loaned to RB Leipzig.
