ABOUT YULDUZ USMONOVA

Uzbek singer, songwriter, and actress who is well-known in Central Asia and Turkey. She has released 24 studio albums, and has recorded songs in many different languages including Uzbek, Tartar, Uyghur, Arabic, Turkish, Tajik, Kazakh, and Russian. She has also worked on music for over a dozen Uzbek films.

After singing at a Women's Day show, she was discovered by Gavharxonim Rahimova, and shortly after, she began studying music at the Uzbekistan State Conservatory.

In 2008, she emigrated to Turkey due to her discontent with the Uzbekistan government for their attempts to control her artistically as well as where she could perform.

She was born in the city of Margilan located in the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan, and her parents worked at a silk factory. She has one daughter.

In 2007, she appeared in a Nilufar Usmonova music video.
